Nottingham Forest have officially confirmed Ange Postecoglou as their new head coach, just days before their Premier League trip to Arsenal.

Forest moved swiftly after parting ways with Nuno Espirito Santo earlier this week, appointing the 60-year-old Australian who boasts over 25 years of managerial experience and a proven track record of winning silverware.

In a club statement, Forest said:
“Nottingham Forest is delighted to confirm the appointment of Ange Postecoglou as the Club’s First Team Head Coach. Postecoglou arrives on Trentside with a wealth of experience, having consistently competed and won trophies at the highest level.”

Postecoglou, who led Tottenham to Europa League glory last season with a 1-0 victory over Manchester United, will bring several trusted backroom staff from Spurs with him. Despite lifting Spurs’ first trophy in 17 years, he was dismissed after a poor domestic campaign that ended with 22 defeats and a 17th-place finish.

Linked with moves to LAFC, Bayer Leverkusen, and Fenerbahce during the summer, Postecoglou has now been handed another chance in the Premier League. His first challenge will be a daunting trip to the Emirates Stadium to face Arsenal after the international break.
