Arsenal Injury News: Kai Havertz Needs Knee Surgery as Saka & Ødegaard Doubts Mount Before Liverpool Clash - Loadedmore.ng

Arsenal have been hit with a major injury setback as Kai Havertz will undergo knee surgery, ruling him out for several weeks.

The Arsenal star sustained the problem during the opening-day win at Manchester United, where he came on as a second-half substitute.

Havertz’s absence in last weekend’s 5-0 victory over Leeds United sparked concerns, and medical tests this week confirmed that the German international needs surgery.

As a result, Havertz is set to miss Sunday’s huge Liverpool vs Arsenal Premier League clash at Anfield and Germany’s upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Slovakia and Northern Ireland.

Adding to the Gunners’ problems, Bukayo Saka suffered a hamstring injury in the win over Leeds. The England winger is expected to be out for three to four weeks, missing key fixtures including the trip to Anfield and England’s double-header against Andorra and Serbia.

Meanwhile, Arsenal captain Martin Ødegaard also picked up a shoulder injury against Daniel Farke’s side. The midfielder is now a serious doubt for Liverpool vs Arsenal, further deepening Mikel Arteta’s selection concerns.

This Arsenal injury update comes at the worst possible time, with the Gunners preparing for a season-defining run of fixtures in both the Premier League and European competitions.
