Arsenal’s £67.5million summer signing Eberechi Eze has trained with the squad for the first time as he eyes a dream debut against Liverpool at Anfield this weekend.

The 27-year-old midfielder, who completed a high-profile switch from Crystal Palace on Saturday, was unveiled to Gunners fans at the Emirates before Arsenal’s emphatic 5-0 win over Leeds United.

After being given Sunday off, Mikel Arteta’s squad returned to training on Monday, with Eze joining his new teammates in full training at London Colney.

His addition is seen as a major boost to Arsenal’s attacking depth, especially with Bukayo Saka and Kai Havertz sidelined through injury, while captain Martin Ødegaard remains a doubt.

Eze could be handed his first Arsenal appearance immediately, with the Gunners desperate to end a long winless run at Anfield.

Arsenal have not beaten Liverpool away in the Premier League since 2012, back when Arteta himself was still playing in midfield.

Speaking about his move and possible debut, Eze expressed excitement at starting a new chapter in North London.

“There were talks about position, but as long as I’m on the pitch and given the opportunity to play and express myself, it doesn’t matter where I’m playing,” he said.

“I just want to win. I’ve seen what winning does for a team, for the fans, for everyone around the club — and I want to be part of that. That’s my mentality.”

Eze’s arrival for £60m plus £7.5m in add-ons signals Arsenal’s intent to push for silverware this season, with Arteta likely to rely on his creativity and flair in key fixtures.

Arsenal fans will now be watching closely to see if Eze makes his debut in one of the toughest fixtures of the season — away to defending champions Liverpool on Sunday.
