England Squad: Trent Alexander-Arnold Dropped as Djed Spence & Elliot Anderson Handed First Call-Ups by Tuchel - Loadedmore.ng

Thomas Tuchel has made some bold decisions in his latest England squad announcement, leaving out Real Madrid full-back Trent Alexander-Arnold while handing maiden call-ups to Elliot Anderson and Djed Spence.

Alexander-Arnold, 26, made the high-profile switch from Liverpool to Madrid in the summer and featured in Tuchel’s first squad.

However, after being left out of Real’s starting XI in their 3-0 La Liga win over Real Oviedo on Sunday, he has now been omitted from England’s World Cup qualifier squad to face Andorra and Serbia.

Fresh Faces in Tuchel’s England Squad

Elliot Anderson (Nottingham Forest midfielder) and Djed Spence (Tottenham right-back) receive their first senior call-ups.

Marcus Rashford and Adam Wharton return to the squad. Veteran Jordan Henderson, 35, keeps his place after featuring regularly under Tuchel. Morgan Gibbs-White is also included.

Surprisingly, there is no room for Jack Grealish, despite the Everton winger impressing in a standout win over Brighton last weekend with assistant coach Anthony Barry watching on.

Other notable absentees include Kyle Walker, Phil Foden, and Ivan Toney. Meanwhile, Tino Livramento and John Stones make their first England squads since Tuchel took charge.

Injury Setbacks for Key Stars

England are without several big names through injury: Jude Bellingham (Real Madrid); Bukayo Saka (Arsenal); Cole Palmer (Chelsea); Levi Colwill (Chelsea)
