Former NBA star Jeremy Lin has officially announced his retirement from professional basketball, closing the chapter on a remarkable journey that spanned the NBA, G League, and international leagues.
In a heartfelt Instagram post on Saturday night, Lin reflected on his career: “It’s been the honor of a lifetime to compete against the fiercest competitors under the brightest lights and to challenge what the world thought was possible for someone who looks like me. I’ve lived out my wildest childhood dreams to play in front of fans all around the world. I will forever be the kid who felt fully alive every time I touched a basketball.”
Lin, who went undrafted in 2010, played nine seasons in the NBA from 2010 to 2019, averaging 11.6 points and 4.3 assists per game. After his breakout with the Knicks, Lin became a full-time starter with the Houston Rockets before spending time with the Lakers, Hornets, Nets, Hawks, and Raptors, winning an NBA championship with Toronto in 2019.
Following his NBA career, he continued to showcase his talent in the Chinese Basketball Association, Taiwan Professional Basketball League, and the NBA G League.
