The New York Knicks are bringing back veteran guard Landry Shamet on a one-year contract, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania.
Shamet, who briefly explored free agency this summer, ultimately chose to remain in New York after proving to be a valuable piece of the Knicks’ rotation last season.
The 28-year-old appeared in 50 games, averaging 5.7 points per game on 46.1% shooting while providing reliable scoring and spacing off the bench.
His contributions helped New York reach the Eastern Conference Finals for the first time in 30 years, a historic run that has reignited hope among fans. With the East looking wide open in 2025–26, Shamet is expected to once again be a steady presence in Tom Thibodeau’s second unit.
The Knicks’ decision to retain Shamet underscores their commitment to depth and shooting as they aim to take the next step in their pursuit of an NBA Finals appearance.
