Barcelona have moved quickly to silence speculation over Marcus Rashford’s future, insisting the on-loan forward remains part of their plans despite a slow start in Spain.

Rashford, who joined the Catalan giants on loan from Manchester United this summer, has faced criticism after limited minutes in La Liga. So far, the 27-year-old has managed just 94 minutes of action, with two substitute appearances and a single start that ended at half-time.

His performances have sparked debate among fans and pundits, with some reports suggesting Barcelona could cut the deal short in January.

However, those claims have now been firmly denied. Spanish journalist Guillem Balague confirmed that Barcelona officials have spoken directly with Rashford’s representatives to dismiss the rumours, assuring that the club still believe he can rediscover his best form at Camp Nou.

Transfer insider Fabrizio Romano also reinforced the stance, stressing there is “absolutely zero” truth to talk of an early exit.

While England manager Thomas Tuchel admitted Rashford has yet to produce “wow performances” on the international stage, he praised the forward’s attitude and work rate. Rashford featured in England’s uninspiring win over Andorra but failed to make the impact expected of him.

Barcelona remain confident their summer signing will deliver as the season unfolds. Rashford is now focused on turning things around both at club and international level, with a chance to prove himself again when England travel to face Serbia in their World Cup qualification campaign on Tuesday.
