Tottenham showed grit and determination as they fought back from two goals down to claim a dramatic 2-2 Premier League draw against Brighton at the Amex Stadium.

The Seagulls stormed into an early lead when Yankuba Minteh rounded Guglielmo Vicario to score in the eighth minute, before Yasin Ayari doubled the advantage with a stunning strike from distance on 31 minutes. Spurs looked in trouble, but Richarlison gave them hope on the stroke of half-time with a scrappy finish from close range.

In the second half, Thomas Frank’s side piled on the pressure after introducing Dutch star Xavi Simons, who tested Bart Verbruggen with a powerful effort and added much-needed creativity in midfield. Brighton dug deep but their resistance was finally broken in the 82nd minute when Mohammed Kudus’ dangerous cross was turned into his own net by Jan Paul van Hecke.

The visitors pressed hard for a winner, with Simons denied a penalty shout and Kudus going close late on, but the match ended level.

The result means Tottenham remain unbeaten away under new boss Thomas Frank, collecting 10 points from five league games to climb into second place in the Premier League table — leapfrogging rivals Arsenal, who face Manchester City on Sunday.
